Sam Altman on David Senra said something along the lines of “if two AI’s were to have a more meaningful, smart, insightful podcast, would people even care?”
Getting at something really important, which is one of the reasons I’m anti-doom when it comes to the AI discussion, which is that people care about feeling. It doesn’t matter what kind, but generally the stronger the better (on either side of the spectrum). Media is sort of its own horseshoe theory. Those that get the most clicks are the ones who last with you (aka make the loudest impression). People want to feel something when consuming media. It’s not all about the insight, its about building opinions, hearing controversial takes, things that aren’t absolute. I want that speculation and idea spam, not the bot that’s going to give me textbook truths. Human driven media will not go away.
